Gideon Cross. As beautiful and flawless on the outside as he was damaged and tormented on the inside. He was a bright, scorching flame that singed me with the darkest of pleasures. I couldn’t stay away. I didn’t want to. He was my addiction . . . my every desire . . . mine.

My past was as violent as his, and I was just as broken. We’d never work. It was too hard, too painful . . . except when it was perfect. Those moments when the driving hunger and desperate love were the most exquisite insanity.

We were bound by our need. And our passion would take us beyond our limits to the sweetest, sharpest edge of obsession . . .

Bared to You by Sylvia Day is the first in the Crossfire trilogy featuring Gideon and Eva, two wounded souls who come together in an explosion of lust and passion as intoxicating as it is devastating – the perfect read for fans of bestselling erotic romance Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James.

Our journey began in fire . . .

Gideon Cross came into my life like lightning in the darkness – beautiful and brilliant, jagged and white hot. I was drawn to him as I’d never been to anything or anyone in my life. I craved his touch like a drug, even knowing it would weaken me. I was flawed and damaged, and he opened those cracks in me so easily . . .

Gideon knew. He had demons of his own. And we would become the mirrors that reflected each other’s most private wounds . . . and desires.

The bonds of his love transformed me, even as I prayed that the torment of our pasts didn’t tear us apart…

Bared to You by Sylvia Day is a provocative, sexually driven and very erotic novel. Eva is a smart, self-assured woman who finds herself drawn to the charismatic Gideon. Their relationship is initially based on sex, but their connection is so powerful, that they are overwhelmed with the need to be with one another. If it’s sex you want from a book then this one has it in bucket loads. The majority of Eva and Gideon’s time together results in some form of very primal sex.

Bared to You, has been named as one of many books like Fifty Shades of Grey and if you like Fifty Shades then I am sure you are going to like Bared to You. I like to think of it as a more vanilla version of Fifty Shades. Sylvia Day is a talented writer, who is able to capture the emotions of her characters and has written an exceptional book.

The second Crossfire Novel, Reflected in You is due out in paperback on October 23rd 2012 and is already available as an ebook.

Being the youngest daughter of the Devil has never been easy. Daphne’s father has no time for her, her mother no interest, and her status in the upper echelon separates her from the working-class demons that populate Lucifer’s metropolis. When her brother and only confidante goes missing, life in the restrictive city of Pandemonium becomes intolerable. Now, in an attempt to find him, Daphne sets out for Earth – and finds it larger and more chaotic than she imagined: a dazzling expanse of noise, dirt and random violence. Despite her bewilderment, she navigates the mortal world with growing fascination, gaining an ally when she saves a dying boy from her father’s minions.
For Truman Flynn, the last year has been one long downward spiral, but when Daphne arrives just in time to save his life, he finds himself unexpectedly glad to have another chance. Together, Daphne and Truman go in search of her brother, braving the hazards of Las Vegas and the perils of first love, even as it becomes increasingly clear that her brother might have had a secret and compelling reason for leaving. Lucifer’s agents aren’t the only creatures on the prowl, and Daphne soon finds herself the target of a plan to rid the world of demons for good. Now she must evade a demon-eating monster, rescue her brother from an angelic zealot, and save the boy she loves from his greatest enemy – himself.

What if you were bound for a new world, about to pledge your life to someone you’d been promised to since birth, and one unexpected violent attack made survival-not love-the issue?
A ship heading for New Earth is halfway through its incredible journey across the galaxy.
On board, sixteen year olds Waverly and Kieran are part of the first generation born in space.
They are in love.
They believe their future is written in the stars.
They have never seen a stranger before…
… until the day they are wrenched apart and suddenly find themselves fighting for their lives.

Glow is the most riveting series debut since The Hunger Games.

Reviewed by Esther Fong: Glow is a futuristic sci-fi thriller telling the story of the battle between two spaceships sent from earth several decades ago in a bid to colonise new earth. The story is told from the points of view of Waverly, the oldest girl (at 16) aboard the Empyrean, her boyfriend Kieran, the oldest boy who is billed to be the next captain, and Seth one of the captains men’s sons. After the sister ship New horizons attacks the Empyrean the children are thrown into a world of lies, deceit, and violation all in the name of creating a better world.

Being used to reading books from first person point of view Glow felt a bit disjointed in reading, it took awhile to get into but was a very interesting read. The only thing that I didn’t like was that the book became too preachy, I realise this was done as a parallel between Kieran and Ann, but thankfully this was only towards the end of the book. That being said I loved the plot of this book, and I wouldn’t be surprised if this book became a staple for students to read in schools. If you liked Across the Universe then this is a book for you.

Sydney Sage is an Alchemist, one of a group of humans who dabble in magic and serve to bridge the worlds of humans and vampires. They protect vampire secrets—and human lives.

Sydney would love to go to college, but instead, she’s been sent into hiding at a posh boarding school in Palm Springs, California–tasked with protecting Moroi princess Jill Dragomir from assassins who want to throw the Moroi court into civil war. Formerly in disgrace, Sydney is now praised for her loyalty and obedience, and held up as the model of an exemplary Alchemist.

But the closer she grows to Jill, Eddie, and especially Adrian, the more she finds herself questioning her age–old Alchemist beliefs, her idea of family, and the sense of what it means to truly belong. Her world becomes even more complicated when magical experiments show Sydney may hold the key to prevent becoming Strigoi—the fiercest vampires, the ones who don’t die. But it’s her fear of being just that—special, magical, powerful—that scares her more than anything. Equally daunting is her new romance with Brayden, a cute, brainy guy who seems to be her match in every way. Yet, as perfect as he seems, Sydney finds herself being drawn to someone else—someone forbidden to her.

When a shocking secret threatens to tear the vampire world apart, Sydney’s loyalties are suddenly tested more than ever before. She wonders how she’s supposed to strike a balance between the principles and dogmas she’s been taught, and what her instincts are now telling her.

Should she trust the Alchemists—or her heart?

Keri Arthur is back – this time with an explosive new series that’s packed with everything you could want: a feisty heroine, witches, vampires, , demons, angels of death, suspense and a whole lot of sexy action.

The sexy, thrilling adventures continue in bestselling author Keri Arthur’s new Dark Angels series, starring half-werewolf/half-Aedh Risa Jones.

Risa will go to any lengths to avenge her mother’s murder – even if it means making a pact with the most evil vampire she’s ever met. Lethal and powerful, Madeline Hunter is leader of the vampire council and will put her resources behind finding the killer – for a price. The venerable vampire requires the assistance of Risa’s psychic powers. Quid pro quo.

Someone – or something – is targeting the elders of the local council, cursing the immortal vampires to rapidly age, sink into madness and die. Risa must track down the vengeful being responsible. But Risa’s father, a rogue Aedh priest, also enlists her in a dangerous mission. And not even the great Madeline Hunter may be able to protect her from the shadowy forces that desire nothing less than Risa’s destruction.

Review by Selina Tyzack: The story starts off soon after where the 1st book ended which I absolutely loved, straight back in to the story. There was so much action in the beginning of this book that I started to get confused as to what the new characters roles were. However continuing on reading and it all became clear.

Risa is forced to work for the High Council and play detective to find who is behind a mysterious spell. The task of finding the keys to the gates of Hell is still at hand which makes this book a lot of fun to read. Risa and her primitive urges and love making with her lover Lucian are never a letdown. Azriel (Risas’ dark angel reaper) seems to be gaining deeper feelings for Risa and you start to root for him as Lucian’s character becomes more mysterious and cloudy.

I like the fact that if you have not read the 1st book “Darkness Unbound” Kerri Authur gives a brief yet important description of the current characters in the previous story. There is so much action in this book it was hard to put it down. Kerri’s perfectly blended mix of violence, lust, sex and action really make this book an exciting read. As in the “Darkness Unbound” and “Darkness Rising” I recommend that teenagers under the age of 16 should not read these books as they have some explicit juicy sex scenes. A lot happens in every chapter so see if you can pick up little clues here and there.
