My Thoughts: I am a huge fan of Charlaine Harris’ Sookie Stackhouse / True Blood vampire series but I have to admit that I didn’t really enjoy the last book (Dead in the Family) as much as I have enjoyed all the other books in the series. So this book (book #11) was either going to be the maker or the breaker for me. Thankfully Charlaine didn’t disappoint, she has restored my faith in the series and I am really happy about that.

The story kicks off not long from where Dead In The Family left off. Merlotte’s is firebombed, then armed hoodlums hold-up the bar looking to kidnap her and once again Sookie is thrown into danger.

Eric is his usual over-protective self but he seems distracted. He’s relationship with Pam is strained and he won’t tell Sookie what’s going on which leads her to question their relationship.

Dead reckoning is fast paced and as quirky as ever with mystery, some violence and a bit of romance I’d recommend it and the whole series in general to vampire fans.
